2016 TECH Annual Report

August 2, 2017

Dear Friends,

One common thread here at TECH is that we take goals head on. Some goals are met incrementally each day, and some are dreams that take years to be actualized. Whether it’s the people we serve, our staff, our board, or our donors, we set the bar high and then we come together to fly over it because WE ARE TECH.

As you’ll read in this report, TECH hit a lot of major milestones in 2016 because of the integral members of our TECH family. With the help of community volunteers, committee members and board members we could make decisions that moved our organization forward as well as grow our fundraising efforts through ever-evolving special events.

As our art program grew, it was important to us to be able to provide a place where the people we serve could create incredible pieces of art. With the help of the Hutchinson community and a generous gift by the Bobby Megli Estate, we opened a full-service art studio in May 2016.

We strived to focus on independence and self-worth by fostering relationships with local community partners that value the importance of people with disabilities being a part of our community. So many of our local businesses have continued to provide work opportunities for the people we serve – something we are proud to be a part of.

While the achievements of this past year were many, we know there is still work to be done. We’ll set fresh goals, and I hope to be able to write to you in 2018 to tell you all the ways we worked to achieve them in 2017. At TECH, we never stop working to make life better for the people we serve. We never give up when things get hard. We band together and make things happen. All because WE ARE TECH.

Sincerely,

Brenda Maxey, President/CEO
