20-Year Employee Recognition Wall Finds New Home at TECH Administrative Offices and TECH Art Gallery

20-Year Employee Recognition Wall Finds New Home at TECH Administrative Offices and TECH Art Gallery
One thing that stands out to people in our community about TECH is the longevity of our team. Many of our employees have celebrated 10, 20 and even 30 year anniversaries with our organization. This month, we were able to relocate our 20-Year Employee Recognition Wall to the TECH Administrative Offices and TECH Art Gallery space. The Employee Wall recognizes staff members that have been with TECH for 20+ years. When asked what has kept you here at TECH for 20 or more years, many sited the people they have the opportunity to work with every single day. Michelle Dodge, who has been with TECH for 21 years this year, said "Honestly, the thing that has kept me here all these years is my clients. We are as vital a part of their lives as friends and family are. Some of these folks I have known and assisted for my entire 21 years at TECH. That's important to me and to them to have that long-lasting connection with someone." Congratulations all of the honorees! To see the wall, feel free to stop by the TECH Offices any time, Monday - Friday, 8AM - 5PM!

What was your favorite TECH pillar and why?

Independence – I believe all aspects of a clients success in life comes as a result of developing a level of independence that they feel most comfortable with. It allows them to grow as a person, to learn to live within the community and to be a contributor to society.

What is your favorite TECH pillar and why?

Creativity because it’s one of my best strengths shown through my ability to problem solve and at times think out of the box for solutions that help a person gain self-worth, independence and connections. Creativity brings me great joy; it’s the reason I get up in the morning to come to work. I purr when someone “gets it” because I laid out the pieces they needed to garner what they were hoping for and I’m really jazzed when I help others work together on an outcome for the client or staff. Creativity for me is the nuts, whipped cream and cherry-on-top part of life.

What is your favorite thing about working for TECH?

Making friends with and building relationships with the clients is something that goes on every day. Talking, listening, laughing, and crying with Parents/Guardians has been a wonderful experience. Learning from Larry and Jim over the years has been an invaluable experience for me. Watching staff blossom and mature, seeing them become compassionate and loving individuals has always made me feel extremely thankful for what I do.

What is your favorite TECH Pillar and Why?

All of the pillars are my favorite, but if I have to pick just one it is Self-Worth. We each have our own gifts and abilities that are unique to us and make us who we are. Everyone has something to offer that can be appreciated by others, whether it is the people we serve, the staff, the board members, volunteers or community members. I love seeing people grow, and not only appreciate the gifts and talents of others, but also recognizing their own gifts and talents.
