2018 TECH Gala Sets New Fundraising Record!

November 27, 2018

The 2018 TECH Gala: A Vintage Carnival was not only a fun and eventful evening, but it also was a record-breaking night for TECH, raising over $155,000 in gross dollars for the non-profit. The Gala was held at Main Street Event on Saturday, November 17th and it featured both live and silent auctions, food stations where guests indulged in delicious treats from local restaurants and several other night of event fundraisers. Bob and Ann Bush, owners of City Beverage, spoke to guests about the importance of investing in our community and helped kick off a $21,000 mission drive for the TECH Foundation.

Local TECH Artist, Stan Balman and Artist, Julie Black, were featured during the live auction, when their original painting, “She Has Moon Dust In Her Hair”, was auctioned off for over $2,000. Other live auction items included trips to Antiqua, Barbados and Nashville as well as several dinner packages, a wrapped mini truck donated by Lowen Corporation and a “Car A Quarter” package, donated by Midway Motors.

“This event would not have been possible without the support of our TECH Gala committee, our gracious sponsors, the many volunteers and event partners.  We want to say a big thank you to our attendees and donors for having the same passion for TECH’s mission as we do,” says Lacey Mills, Director of Marketing and Special Events for TECH. “Our goal that night is that everyone walks away feeling like they learned something about TECH, the incredible people we serve and felt like they were able to make a difference.”

The 2019 TECH Gala is scheduled for Saturday, November 16, 2019 and sponsorship opportunities will be available in early 2019. To get involved in the Gala, please reach out to Lacey Mills at 620-663-1596 or by email at lacey@techinc.org.
