Stan’s journey with TECH began in 1984. Over the years, he has demonstrated unwavering dedication across various roles, including working at Friendship Meals, tending plants at K-Mart, and lending his skills to TECH’s woodshop and Affirmative Enterprise program as a skilled welder. In 2012, as he approached retirement, Stan joined TECH’s Adult Life Skills program to focus on independent living and embrace new creative outlets.

In 2015, Stan began participating in TECH’s art program. Though painting was new to him, he quickly found a passion and talent for it. His work is now recognized for its vibrant colors, precision, and detail, and has even been honored at events like the 2021 Interhab Conference.

Beyond his creative talents, Stan is known for his deep connections within the community through church, recreation activities, volunteer work, and the friendships he has built over the years. His story embodies all four of TECH’s pillars: independence, creativity, connection, and self-worth.

We are thrilled to showcase Stan’s artwork on the official 2025 Creative Connections logo and even more proud to honor him with this year’s Lifetime Achievement Award. His journey is one of perseverance, passion, and purpose, and we can’t wait for you to meet him at the Block Party on August 16.
