Celebrating Disability Awareness Month
March is Disability Awareness Month, a time to recognize the contributions, talents, and achievements of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities while continuing to build communities where everyone belongs!
At TECH, awareness is not just something we talk about for one month. It is something we live every day! Every day we see individuals growing in independence, discovering their creativity, building confidence, and forming meaningful connections. Whether someone is learning a new life skill, creating artwork in the studio, working toward employment goals, or simply enjoying time in the community, these moments represent real progress and real opportunity.
Disability Awareness Month is also a reminder that inclusion starts with understanding. When communities create space for everyone to participate, amazing things happen. Businesses open their doors, neighbors become friends, and people are recognized not for limitations, but for their abilities, passions, and personalities.
At TECH, we are proud to walk alongside the individuals we serve as they pursue their goals and share their talents with the world! From the artwork created in our studio to the friendships built through our programs, the impact of inclusion can be seen every day.
This month, we encourage everyone to take a moment to celebrate the people in your life who make our community stronger, more creative, and more compassionate. Because awareness leads to understanding and understanding leads to opportunity!
When you make a gift of money, items or your time to TECH, you are making a lasting difference in the lives of those with disabilities. Now it’s easier than ever to spread that feeling of joy while helping the people we serve right here in Reno County.
