Michelle quickly found work through the Supported Employment program, trying her hand at a variety of jobs and acquiring new skills with each experience. Her work and friends were important to her and she made it a priority to find additional ways to be involved with TECH.

In 2005, Michelle expressed an interest in attending the TECHnology Lab where she would learn new computer skills, which ultimately helped her in future positions she held. In 2012, Michelle started working in TECH’s e-Cycle program, where she helped break down computer towers, monitors and other electronic devices donated by the community. Michelle was incredibly skilled at her role in the e-Cycle program and could even “break down” a computer tower in less than 2 minutes!

“Michelle is a ray of sunshine. Believe it or not, some days at our cleaning jobs at KDOT or at The Link, we run into some very dirty jobs. Michelle is never afraid to roll up her sleeves and has a ‘get it done’ attitude,” says Lydia Rostine, DSP for TECH.

Michelle now attends the TECH Adult Life Skills program, the TECH Work Center, works at KDOT through TECH, participates in the TECH Art Program, volunteers regularly for our events, and lives independently in the community!
