Meet Ciera Tiedtke! Ciera is our Director of Residential Services here at TECH and has been with us for 20 years!
Get to Know Ciera
What do you love about working here?
That I get to work here!! I get to help make a difference in people’s lives, I get to wake up and come to wok and see the folks we serve, gaining independence, working, they make working all worth it.
What brought you to TECH?
My dad told me to apply. I was only 19 years old, so I did, he knew I wanted to be a nurse. I had my CNA already and he thought this would give me some good experience, and I haven’t left.
What pillar means the most to you and why?
One of the most important things in life is the connection you make with others.
What is most rewarding about the specific position and job you have?
I get to go to every house and see every client we serve in the residential department. I also get to meet a handful of different personalities; I enjoy being there for my team and being available to answer things for them and help them in any way I can.
Do you have a special memory about working at TECH?
In 20 years, I have made so many memories, I have met so many people and each person we have served I have a memory of. One of my favorites that I think about from time to time is a person we severed years ago, I was Team Leader of the house he lived in. He would ask me every day (he didn’t know my real name just called me Michelle) “Michelle, when are cars going to fly, I am not dying until they do.” “Michelle are cars flying yet have you seen any?” He asked me this for years. He would tell me things he did as a kid that would just be amazing to me, he passed away at 91 years young, in 2012. He told touched my heart and that is when I knew I would be here forever.
Do you have a favorite quote or motto that you live by?
“I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.” -Maya Angelou… so always be kind
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
I love to spend time with my kids, any free time that I get you can find us out and about doing all kinds of activities in the community or just driving around listening to loud music singing and having fun, whatever the kids want to do I try to make it happen for them.. except sky diving we will not ever do that.
