Connecting with our community.

At TECH, we are connected with our community.  We strive to be involved in as many ways as possible, including client participation in events.  We work hard to be involved in Hutchinson community events, put on exciting TECH events as well as be strong advocates for our clients in the community.  Want to get involved?  Read more to find out how.

How We Connect

  • Community Events

TECH staff and clients take any opportunity given to be involved in the community.  We have participated in Third Thursday, Art in the Arb, 4th of July parade, community clean up day, Women’s Show, Art Walk, and the Kansas State Fair just to name a few!  We also like to have outings with clients and often frequent The Alley for bowling night!  And we love having the community visit our space.  We’ve had groups such as AmeriCorps, Kansas KIDS, USD 308 and many others visit our e-cycle and Avenue B locations.

  • TECH Events

In an effort to continually connect our community with TECH, we hold several events, in partnership with local businesses and sponsors, throughout the year.  These events could not happen without the support of the business community and hundreds of volunteers!  Currently, our major events include Main Street Hops for TECH and the Brewmaster’s Dinner, Uncorked for TECH and the Winemaker’s Dinner, TECH Fall Golf Classic and Holiday Festival.  To find out more about upcoming events or how to get involved, click here.

  • Advocacy

TECH often engages in advocacy that advances our mission.  Our CEO and President, Brenda Maxey, spends several days each month at the Capitol, educating our state leadership on issues that matter to our clients.  Each year, many of our clients choose to go to Topeka and share their stories with legislators in an effort to be heard.
