What do you love about working at TECH?
Every day is a little different! Knowing that the purpose behind my work makes a difference in the lives of others gives me a lot of joy! I love making connections with new people and being able to support those that support our persons served is highly rewarding.
What brought you to TECH?
It was always a goal of mine to work for a non-profit organization. When I saw the opportunity to be a part of this great organization, I took a leap of faith that it would work for me and my family. It absolutely did and I am so grateful!
What TECH pillar means the most to you, and why?
Connection. Finding ways to build bridges to others, whether different or similar to ourselves, is one way to find real joy in the world. And spread joy too!
What is most rewarding about the specific position and job you have?
I enjoy being a source of support for others as they walk through the beginning of their careers at TECH. Lately, I’ve had the opportunity to visit with new staff that have completed their first 90 days and really see the impact not only that they make in the lives of our wonderful clients, but the impact our clients make to staff. It is truly touching to see that.
Do you have a special memory about working at TECH?
Staff appreciation night was a very big motivator for me this year. I was able to see staff I don’t usually get to see. I was present to hear managers offer praise for all the hard work they see staff doing at their work locations, and I was able to hear the cheers and hollers in support of those that were recognized! Sometimes I think we get a little lost in the struggles and forget to celebrate the successes. That night really made me proud to work for TECH!
Do you have a favorite quote or motto that you live by?
“It doesn’t matter how strong your opinions are. If you don’t use your power for positive change, you are, indeed, part of the problem” – Coretta Scott King
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
I enjoy spending time with my family, working in my yard, and visiting my friends and family in Arkansas as often as I can!
