TECH Employee Spotlight – Meet Stephanie Oden

Meet Stephanie Oden! Stephanie is the Team Leader of our Roving Department here at TECH and has been with us for 3 years!
Get to Know Stephanie
What do you love about working at TECH?
I love working here because everyone seems to be like a 2nd family. I enjoy learning all the quirks that each client has and creating a bond with them.
What brought you to TECH?
What brought me to TECH was I needing a little extra cash to help pay for myself and my kids to go out and do some additional fun things.
What TECH pillar means the most to you, and why?
It would have to be Self – Worth. Knowing that I can make a difference in someone’s day, whether it be with a simple. Hello, how are you doing today?, to let’s work on this together because I know that you can do it if you help me finish it.
What is most rewarding about the specific position and job you have?
What is the most rewarding about the position that I currently have, it’s the ability to help whenever and wherever I can when I am called to help. This can be with in my own group of staff just needing some help to finish up something or to deescalate a situation. This also goes for anyone else that needs some help even if for just a few minutes so that they can get someone showered to helping pick up or take a client from someplace.
Do you have a special memory about working at TECH?
A special memory I have is when a client(s) who had always had staff do things for them even when they are capable of doing it wants to start doing things on their own to the best of their ability. This includes getting them out of the house more and being more social with their peers, doing their dishes, and helping to clean their place up and gathering trash. Makes my heart happy that they are wanting to make themselves better for themselves, as well as show others that they can do it.
Do you have a favorite quote or motto that you live by?
My favorite quote is “Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass! It’s learning to dance in the rain!” ~ Unknown Author
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
In my free time I enjoy spending time with family and friends, reading a good book with a cup of coffee or tea. Also, enjoy scrapbooking as my way to relax. Some may say it’s too stressful, but I find it relaxing to figure out how I want the pages to come together.
