About the Role:

We are seeking a passionate and creative Art Teacher to lead engaging and inclusive art classes for adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD). The ideal candidate will foster a supportive environment that encourages self-expression, skill-building, and personal growth through art.

Key Responsibilities:

· Develop and implement adaptive art lesson plans tailored to diverse abilities.

· Provide individualized support to students, ensuring accessibility and engagement.

· Utilize various art mediums (painting, drawing, sculpture, mixed media, etc.).

· Encourage self-expression and creativity while promoting confidence and independence.

· Collaborate with support staff to ensure a safe and enriching learning experience.

· Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment.

· Organize art exhibitions or showcases to celebrate artist achievements.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in Art, Special Education, or a related field (preferred).

· Experience working with adults with IDD in an educational or therapeutic setting.

· Strong understanding of adaptive teaching methods and inclusive practices.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

· Patience, creativity, and a passion for empowering individuals through art.
