Leah’s journey with TECH began in May of 2024, and while it’s been just 11 months, it’s felt like home since day one. “I love everything about this job and what I do at TECH,” she said. “It’s like one big family here. Everyone works together as a team.”

But her path to TECH wasn’t exactly straight. She and her boyfriend were both searching for jobs when they stumbled across a posting for a Service Coordinator position at TECH. With a shared passion for helping others and making a difference, they both applied. While she initially accepted a role with the Department for Children and Families, fate had other plans. When her boyfriend joined TECH and found his purpose there, it wasn’t long before Leah followed—and found hers too, stepping into her role as a Service Coordinator.

“This is the best and most rewarding job I have ever had,” Leah shares. And her heart proves it. From raising funds to help someone move into a new apartment, to advocating for correct Medicaid coverage, to helping folks in crisis get the support they need—Leah has poured herself into the role. She thrives on being a fierce advocate and a compassionate guide for those she serves.

For Leah, it’s hard to pick just one TECH pillar that resonates the most. “They all mean a lot to me,” she says. But connection and creativity stand out. “It’s so important for our people to be connected within the community and to show others that intellectual or developmental disabilities don’t stop them from doing things they love. We need to disable the label and care for one another, no matter what.”

Some of Leah’s most memorable moments at TECH are the small, unexpected joys. One of her favorites? “When I first started, I was in my office and one of the clients stopped by and sprayed me with silly string. It made both our days. And to this day, I still find random pieces of silly string in my office.”

Outside of work, Leah’s all about living life to the fullest. Whether she’s spending time with family, gaming, watching anime, or rocking out at a concert, she embraces every moment. A favorite quote of her comes from Theodore Roosevelt:
“The purpose of our lives is not to be happy, but to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that we lived.”

For Leah, TECH isn’t just a job. It’s a mission—and every day is a chance to make a difference.
