TECH Volunteer Spotlight
Shawna Hopkins (pictured left) has been a TECH volunteer for several years. She started volunteering at the Toy Depot as a Greeter for our Uncorked for TECH event.

Meet TECH Volunteer, Shawna Hopkins!
My first volunteer gig was the wine walk. I was the door person located at The Toy Depot and actually chased down a lady who “accidentally walked out” with a sample of wine. I have lived in Hutchinson most of my life, graduated from Hutch High and Hutch CC so this is my way to give back to the community. If I could be a professional volunteer I would!
Volunteering for TECH is one of the most rewarding ways to give back to an organization that gives so much to a family member (and community) that utilizes their wonderful service. One of my favorite memories volunteering for TECH was the Staff Recognition Banquet night last month. Employees nominated and voted for their peers who received awards at their appreciation dinner. That was a highlight in my volunteer career.
How do I get involved….? Ways I get involved are trying to say “no“ when Lacey calls and asks for help at events like Wine Walk, Beer Master Brew, Employee Appreciation Night, etc. (which doesn’t happen). I like helping those who can’t help themselves (advocating for those who need it) is why I chose TECH as my volunteer choice.
Thank you, Shawna, for being such a valuable volunteer here at TECH! We appreciate you and love your energy that you bring to our events!!
